1742 Crown green bowling in Knowle started by a group of local gentry from the Mermaid Inn (now the Greswolde hotel) and was originally located in the centre of the village where the Berrow homes are today
1780 Ye Olde Knowle Bowling Club formed (located at the White Swan; Greswolde Arms; The Wilsons Arms and the Avenue Club)
1932 Formation of "The Olde Knowle Ladies Bowling Club"
1949 New green constructed on land behind the Red Lion
1990 Club given notice to move from its Red Lion site by Ansells Brewery and an undeveloped plot of land identified next to the Railway Inn – with half of it being purchased and top bowling green constructed
1995 Club moved to current site between Dorridge Village Hall and the Railway Inn
1996 Clubhouse opened (using a grant from the Foundation for Sport and the Arts and local fundraising)
1997 The “Olde Knowle Ladies Bowling Club” amalgamated with “Ye Olde Knowle Bowling Club”
2005 Second half of plot of land was purchased
2008 Bottom bowling green opened
2021 Extension and refurbishment of the clubhouse completed
Additional kitchen and bar facilities
Dominoes team also entered league
2023 Short mats purchased and short mat league bowling commenced
Charity Cup introduced – a social bowling league raising money for charity
2024 Formal Coaching introduced with trained coaches
Out of season bowling commenced to extend the bowling season
2025 Organised YOKBC social bowling introduced
